Why this one?Rachel, the owner, is originally from rural England, & now lives in New York. Although she loves big city living, she bought this house so she could still get her 'fix' of real England whenever she can. Built a stone’s throw away from Henry VIII’s palace, along the banks of the river Thames, this old english cottage was most probably a workers cottage when it was built in 1760. The cosy English pub a few doors down the road (serving great food and local beers) was built in 1456, and St Mary’s church opposite dates back to the 1500’s. The age of local structures such as these is why this sleepy old English village, right next to Hampton Court Palace, is a conservation area, boasting quintessential old English architecture and charm.
