"Beautiful & Peaceful" ... Erica G, Telluride CO - Apr 18This house was perfect for our stay. "The Bach" was built to frame the gorgeous views with bedrooms looking out over the ocean. The main living space opens up to the ample deck and pool for cooling off. Outdoor space is situated just right to give you shade or sunshine. Kitchen is stocked with gadgets and the decor is updated and comfortable. If you are looking for a true tranquil get-a-away, Cayman Brac is the island and "The Bach" is the house.
"Wonderful, Comfortable & completely relaxing" ... Kathleen T, Charlotte NC - Dec 17My husband, 21 yr old son + a family friend just returned from a week at The Bach on Brac. We absolutely loved the house! Spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. We lived on the deck & enjoyed the pool. While the beach is unswimmable, the views are incredible! The beds are some the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on! Melissa is wonderful to work with - extremely responsive and accommodating. One of the extra touches we really appreciated are chargers for every type of electronic device! The bedrooms are air conditioned but we never needed it - the ocean breezes are sublime. We never saw another person on the beach or near the house for that matter - perfect privacy! We highly recommend a stay in this adorable beach house! Kathleen & David Turner
"Paradise" ... Corri J, Ontario Canada - Jan 18An amazing property with everything you could possibly need for your vacation. A fully equipped kitchen, towels, beach gear, games, books and so much more. A beautiful secluded location on the ocean with a pool. Recommended for both couples or family get away.

"Charming house on Cayman Brac" ... Carolyn S, Cornish NH - Feb 18We spent a delightful week at "Bach on Brac". This delightful, well kept house is right on the ocean and we were lulled to sleep each evening by the sound of the waves. The house has lots of spaces, both in sun and shade to comfortably read and enjoy this beautiful island. The kitchen is well equipped and there were plenty of towels and toiletries in each bathroom as well books and boardgames if not using the fast speed wifi. There are not a lot of sandy beaches on Cayman Brac, but having the private pool just outside the door solves that dilemma. We explored the nature trails on Cayman Brac and often saw the rare Cayman Brac parrots while visiting the parrot reserve. Cayman Brac specializes in diving and snorkeling, but if you are looking for a quiet, friendly island, "Bach on Brac" will meet every expectation!
"Much needed & much appreciated" ... Margaret B, Alexandra VA - Dec17/Jan18We had a ideal time at the Bach at Brac! Just returned from a trip at the end of December, beginning of January during which time we celebrated a grad school graduation and a belated 25th wedding anniversary. The house is well outfitted- we've stayed in many VRBO houses and the Bach is by far the best equipped. Melissa has left a binder with an exhaustive amount of information which was enormously helpful. The house was spotless, and if we needed help with anything around the house, the house manager was quick to respond. Perhaps my personal favorite space in the house is the deck out back and the pool. Each night we'd grab our cocktail and watch the sun set from our own deck. If you are looking for off-the-grid comfort and luxury, I can't recommend the Bach highly enough!

"Perfect, ideal, heaven, wonderful" ... Kirstie V, Westerville OH - Dec 17
Okay folks, if you are looking for the perfect place to stay on Cayman Brac, this is it! Awesome stay from start to finish. Very clean, meticulously maintained! The beds and pillows are so fantastic you won't want to get out of bed---perfect place to enjoy the sunrise! We got to enjoy a couple of thunderstorms from the comfort of the porch---great way to watch a storm approach. I have to say that this was the best-equipped home I have ever stayed in. Many times over the course of the week, the statement was made I wonder if and sure enough what we needed was there! Van, our on island contact person, was never more than a quick call away if we needed anything or an answer to a question. The home is beautifully decorated with a costal atmosphere - the pictures portray the home exactly! The pool is definitely a plus --- enjoy the beauty of the sea while floating in the deck side pool! There is a great fire pit area---was pretty windy the night we wanted to use it so we didn't risk possibly burning the house down! I strongly recommend choosing this property if you plan to be visit Cayman Brac! You won't be disappointed! If you do decide to stay here don't miss out on having a moonlight massage. Kelly will come to the house and set up on the deck....perfect! We had a full moon for ours....it was wonderful....in fact we booked two separate nights! Definitely will stay here again! And certainly last but not least, corresponding with Melissa, the owner of the property, could not be better. Melissa is wonderful, so pleasant and responsive---certainly makes you feel like a friend. Always quick to respond with answers to my many questions! Informative about the island and of course how to get my hands on those wonderful mattresses and pillows! LOL! Thanks Melissa! I can't say enough about what a joy you were, and are, to work with! Looking forward to being back on Brac next year!
"Peace & relaxation @ the Bach" ... Ryan B, Mountainside NJ - Nov 17
We recently returned from our 5-night stay at The Bach over the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. We could not have asked for a better house and location to call home for the week! Melissa was incredibly helpful during our booking and preparing us for our stay. Our flight into Grand was delayed by a few hours so we didn't make it to the Brac until late in the evening, but the property manager Van was very accommodating and happily greeted us at the airport. The home was perfect for us and our three children; very private, clean, spacious and stocked with all sorts of amenities. Melissa thought of everything! Our children enjoyed playing in the lovely pool and exploring the rocky coastline. The view and sunsets are exquisite and it was so enjoyable relaxing by the firepit watching the starlit sky. Upon our return to the Brac we will look nowhere else but The Bach!
"Amazing week at the Bach in the Brac" ... Tad W, Lake Park GA - Oct 17
This is an awesome place! Melissa was wonderful to work with before and during our stay. The house has everything anyone needs to make your trip enjoyable with beautiful views of the sunrise and the sea. We hope to return soon!
"Relaxation Exemplified!" ... Scott K, Grand Cayman - Sep 17What a fantastic home for a relaxing getaway on a sleepy quiet island. Melissa was great to deal with offering lots of information and recommendations for rental car and dive shop. Three days of diving with Brac Scuba Shack was incredible. The house ticks all the boxes for privacy, well equipped, clean and comfortable. The outdoor living space and pool was perfect for relaxing, cooling off and having dinners under the most incredible stars you will ever see! We look forward to another trip soon!

"The Little Things" ... Angela B, Kasilof AK - Oct 17This was the first time my husband and I have traveled internationally. With the help of Melissa from the very beginning, she made sure our trip went smoothly. She made sure we selected the correct airport to arrive at, and made helpful suggestions like who to rent a vehicle from. The house was clean and inviting, and did little things like leaving a beach bag in each bedroom. We went to celebrate our 25th anniversary and renewed our vows on the back deck looking out over the ocean. This location is so beautiful! Thank you Melissa for making our memories unforgettable!

Amazing ... Janine J, Georgetown, Cayman Islands - Jul 17
We had a wonderful stay at The Bach. The house has that real "beach" feel and the views of the ocean are stunning. It is fully equipped with everything you might need and very spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and spotless - very well maintained. We especially enjoyed the pool overlooking the ocean and we used the grill every night. Watching the sunrise from the deck is a must! I would highly recommend The Bach and hope to return soon.
A quiet seaside getaway ... Rosemarie D, Woodstock, CT - Jun 17
We stayed at the Bach@Brac for one week. The home was fully equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable vacation. The ocean views from the living room and most of the bedrooms was beautiful. The large deck gave you a choice of getting sun or sitting in the shade. The pool on the deck was very refreshing after a hot day. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place away from the crowed resorts, the Bach @ Brac is the place to take your next vacation. Melissa and Michael have done everything they can to make their vacation home your next Cayman Brac Vacation.
Really beautiful house on the shore ...

Relaxing secluded getaway ... Paul M, Jackson, WY - Apr 17Four of us stayed at the Bach for 7 days. Melissa was very helpful and answered our questions in a timely manner. We were met at the airport by B&S car rental person and the house manager who showed us to local supermarket and liquor store before heading to the house. Pictures and description were very accurate. Plenty of room to spread out, very well maintained. Kitchen well equipped to cook any meal you might want. Washer & dryer added bonus. The house is located on the south shore east end which makes it very private, never saw another person while hanging out. We did shore dives for 4 days and one day of boat diving with Brac Scuba, water temp 82 near perfect. Also did an afternoon of rock climbing which is a short distance away. If you are looking for a relaxing secluded getaway at a very reasonable price this would be hard to beat.

Absolutely a Dream Cottage ... Jane & Mike, Hamilton, Canada - Feb 17
My father and I go away annually to a sunny destination. I had chosen this cottage for many reasons, and all exceeded our expectations. When we arrived we were met by Van, the property manager, who met us as the airport, despite the fact that our flight was delayed, led the way across the island and introduced to the location and its details, keys, amenities, rooms, basic stock, bicycles, etc etc. But what became my favorite was the pool and my buddies, the pool duck and turtle which told me the temperature. The whole place became what my father described as a "guilty pleasure". You woke up to the sun rising, swam in the pool before breakfast, enjoyed the first meal of the day on the deck, headed out to do our daily activities only to return swim, and then prepare meals in a fabulous kitchen, collapse for a good movie before moving to the deck to have tea and watch the stars prior to heading to your bedrooms, all with adjoining washroom/shower facilities. It couldn't have been any nicer. I definitely recommend this location, accommodation and give this site 5 star plus! Thanks Melissa for all your interaction, recommendations and the opportunity to realize a dream on the Brac at Bach! Jane & Mike, from Canada
Your own private boutique hotel !! .... Trine S, Austria - Feb 17
Staying at the Bach is like having a boutique hotel all for yourselves. You sometimes expect an overfriendly staff member to ask you yet again, if you need anything else. Don’t get me wrong, I love a nice hotel, but when you stay somewhere for two weeks, you just want to follow your own schedule, in your own company. The house is tastefully decorated, with fabrics, materials and colour combinations, which makes you want to cuddle up with a book in literarily every nook and couch in the house. Melissa, the owner, went out of her way to answer all my questions prior to our stay and provided us with a list of useful information a week or two before our arrival. She stays at the house regularly, and that is evident in every corner of the house. There is absolutely nothing you need to bring, what you normally would bring when you travel or is often missing in a rental home. Everywhere you find stacks of fresh magazines, a nicely assorted bookshelf, adapters and powercords (i.e. for apple gadgets, everything is there), lots of helpful information about the island, water bottles to bring on a hike, and even a lock for the bikes (I know you probably don’t need this on the Brac, but coming from a city, it just feels wrong not to lock up the bike when you leave it). Assortment of sun screens, first-aid pharmaceuticals and kit, laundry powder, tea, tissues, notepad etc. that you just top up if you use any of it. I could go on forever, so just trust me on this, if it is not already in the house, you probably don’t really need it. The kitchen has all you need for all levels of cooking, there is oil, vinegar and spices in the cupboard, you top up as you go, but theoretically you can start cooking the minute you arrive. The oven looked so clean and unused, I almost felt guilty using it. The island has well stocked grocery stores, but great restaurants as well for breakfast, lunch and dinner, eat in or take away. Even though we arrived late, Van, the property manager, met us at the airport and gave us a quick introduction of the house. It couldn’t have been easier.
Stunning, relaxed beach getaway ... Paula D, McLean, VA - Jan 17
From the driveway this home looks like a cute beach cottage. Until you open the front door. Then your entire group says, "Wow!", in unison. The Caribbean Sea is just in front of the living room and pool/deck area! The home is open with vaulted ceilings; everything is crisp and clean and newly renovated. It is functional, relaxed and beautifully decorated. I love that the 3 main bedrooms have their own bathrooms. There's a powder room as well. I think you have a view of the sea from every niche in the home except maybe the laundry (though if you put the drying rack in the screened porch, you can see the sea as you hang clothes!) We loved every aspect of this house. Cayman Brac is a small island, but offers lots to do if you are so inclined. We did several of the walking trails, explored caves, visited the museum and Heritage House and tried many of the restaurants. Working with Melissa was a delight. She's prompt to respond and supplies a great amount of information ahead of time as well as in the house manual. My husband and I have rented several properties in the Caribbean as well as in other parts of the world. The Bach @ Brac is definitely one of my very favorite places! We went out exploring every morning, yet I found myself wanting to return to "my home" earlier each day that passed. I would have been thrilled to have never left the cottage the entire trip. To be able to see the ocean all day and fall asleep to the sound of the waves is priceless.
The Bach @ Brac ... Kevin & Deb, Largo, FL - Xmas 16Melissa arranged to have someone meet us at the airport. After a quick stop at the grocery store our escort took us to the house which exceeded our expectations. All of our questions were answered in a timely fashion before we arrived on the island by Melissa and she even gave us a print out of everything we needed to know about the island. More information was provided upon arrival. We didn't think it was possible to need more information because she was so though. The view from the house was spectacular . The islanders were very friendly. The island is very easy to navigate and we felt extremely safe compared to some of the places we have visited. Helpful hint, weather and holidays affects how the grocery stores are stocked and when they are opened. We made friends while on the island that were also visiting and they visited Bach @ Brac and they said they will be staying there the next time they come back.

Far beyond our expectations, a perfect escape! ... Ryan M, New York, NY - Jul 16
We were a bit nervous to stray from Grand Cayman into Cayman Brac. As soon as we walked in to this property, we didn’t even think about it once again. Best decision we’ve made. I can’t speak for the other properties on the island, but we missed absolutely nothing and gained everything. No loud families or hustle and bustle or crowded resorts - just the perfect breeze right off the ocean on the amazing deck, sound nights of sleep, gorgeous night time stars that stretched the curvature of the earth’s end, and a level of relaxation that even distant islands in French Polynesia didn’t match for us. There’s something truly special about this property. It’s unassuming from the curb as you walk in, but once we saw the views of the ocean from every room, listened to the lapping waves, everything from day to day life seemed to melt off. The pictures don't come close to doing it justice. THE ISLAND – Cayman Brac is small, quiet, and the perfect level of seclusion for a NYer. If you’re looking for nightlife or the latest Iron Chef’s restaurant, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for the dream of seeing very few other people - but so many views and experiences you will never forget, then you’ve found Shangri-la. Particularly if you’re a person who loves the water, good hikes, and relaxation. But even moreso if you love the sights, sounds, feeling, and relaxation that comes with the beautiful emerald and deep blue expansive ocean right outside your door – this is the island, and THIS is the property to stay at. THE PROPERTY – It far exceeded our expectations. The views from every room. The comfort. The location. We didn’t want to leave the deck which comfortably lounged 4 of us, and easily could’ve accommodated more. We ate every meal outside looking right out on the water. We took many walks along the ocean. The bedrooms are beyond comfortable and decorated with style, and we had we had everything we needed to have an unforgettable day. The location is a quick saunter to a gorgeous beach, the local market for food for our lunch and dinner deck barbecues, and the local restaurants and watering holes. The owner is a lovely woman, who went out of her way to make every part of the stay far beyond what we expected. Property had a comprehensive guide and the owner mentioned they're installing a pool - that just takes it from 5 stars to 6. We will be back to this property again and again. We've found the best kept secret in all the Caribbean islands.
"This property is truly a hidden gem" .... Shamique, Grand Cayman, May 16
My stay at this beautiful home was one to remember, it made venturing out to the town seem like a task due to how comfortable it was. I intend to stay at the Bach everytime I visit the Brac as there is absolutely no other home which compares. Not to mention how helpful Melissa was with ensuring that our booking and arrival went smoothly!
"A Tiny Bit of Paradise" - Ann K, Telluride, CO - Apr 16
Where do I begin?! I was worried about leaving my 3 year old daughter behind as I ventured out for a girl's week on Cayman Brac. Once I knew she was fine and having a wonderful time with her grandparents I was able to enjoy every ounce of peace and serenity "The Bach" had to offer. I arrived at night and was welcomed to a beautiful beach house right on the water. The house was beautifully and tastefully decorated, clean, and had all the amenities you could want for a stay at the beach. The kitchen was very well stocked. There were beach towels, magazines, books, and games. There was a television, although we did not find any use for it! I stayed in the large private room off the back deck. The bed was very comfortable and I slept amazingly well after a long day of travel. Every room in the house has air conditioning. I chose to sleep with the windows open so I could here the sound of the waves. I awoke to the most amazing view! The deck is huge with chaise lounges, a table and chairs, and Adirondack chairs. We blew up an inflatable pool and the water stayed cool for several days. We enjoyed bonfires in the fire pit on the beach. The rock pools are great for spying sea urchins, fish, and chiton. The public sand beach is just 10 mins. down the road. The sand is gorgeous and the water is awesome for snorkeling. Cayman Brac is a sleepy little island perfect for getting away and forgetting your busy life for a while. Michael and Melissa's Bach is beautiful, inviting, and just perfect for lazy days in the sun. I can't wait to go back.

"Perfect Weekend with friends and Family" ....
|
We had the great pleasure of staying at The Bach over Christmas Week. The home was everything it was promised to be and we enjoyed each moment we spent there. The kitchen was well-equipped, the living spaces were inviting and comfortable, and the hospitality of the owners and their local representative, Van, was genuine.
We were a group of six and never felt crowded, as the floor plan is open and airy. At the same time, there was ample privacy...a perfect balance. The home has a variety of sitting areas offering quiet places to read or nap. The outside grounds and living areas were well maintained. The linens were amply supplied and of nice quality. The owners were gracious in providing supplies of paper goods, bottled water, etc. which we were happy to restock for the next lucky group to stay at The Bach. Thank you for sharing this peaceful place! |
We had a very nice and relaxing weekend in Melissa's house. It is very clean, has everything you need and feels like a very comfortable country house. Both kids and adults especially enjoyed the fire pit by the ocean :) We will defenetely come again. Thank you, Melissa.
"Absolutely Fabulous" .... Simon K, Boston, MA - Apr 16
My wife and I had a wonderful time at 'The Bach': the location is simply perfect, absolutely stunning view with the sound of waves soothing you to sleep and greeting you in the morning, an enormous front deck with both shade and sun so you can tan or not as you please, and furnishings and furniture well above the norm for a rental property. Melissa was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the island, and this was one of those rare vacation where everything exceeded expectations and just worked. Highly recommend to others, especially divers, and I know we'll be back soon

"Peaceful Paradise" .... Lisa R, Long Island, NY - Nov 15
Staying at The Bach was more than relaxing. The house itself is fantastic - very roomy, clean, stylish, completely equipped with everything I needed inside and out (including terrific wifi, comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen and washer/dryer). The views can't be beat and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is heaven. Everything on the island is easily accessible - markets, beaches, restaurants - and exploring is easy. I can't wait to return to unplug and experience more of what the island has to offer. The worst part was of course, LEAVING!
"The ultimate in cozy peacefulness" ... Lance & Kathleen, Cayman Brac - Oct 15Do you ever wonder where Cayman Brackers go to 'get away from it all? This is the place. From the moment you drive between the neatly-trimmed succulent bushes and then drive behind them, you know you are home and you are safe.
Rustic, cozy and peaceful and yet with all the accoutrements of a modern vacation or staycation: wi-fi, very comfortable furniture and beds, cold a/c, good ceiling fans and lighting. A nice touch is the motion-activated glow lights that make it such that you really don't have to turn on the lights if you choose not to. This house is a nighttime skywatcher's delight, with no light or noise pollution. The only sounds were those of native birds and the surf. The daytime view is serene and magnificent. The place was clean, well-stocked with cooking tools, books and games, and a wonderfully large deck and deck furniture. Grounds were well cared for. We will definitely be back when we need peace in paradise, and I'll recommend this place to any family or friends. |
"The ultimate place to unplug, unwind & recharge" ... Inge K, Westfield, NJ - Aug 15I stayed at this gorgeous beach house with my young family for a week. It was one of the best family vacations we have had in a long time. The house is clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. There are lots of spaces where everyone can relax and the owner Melissa was wonderfully informative. The house has a SPECTACULAR view - and we miss waking up to the sound of the waves every morning now that we are home!
There is plenty to do if you wish - we snorkeled in the nearby lagoon and Buccaneer's Bay (about a 10 minute drive away) and explored the wonderful Bat Cave. Nowhere on the island takes more than 15 minutes to drive to. It is a wonderfully chilled island with stunning natural resources. The house is fully equipped with all the mod cons - good wifi, Netflix on TV and even a panini maker! But our favourite entertainment was lying on the chaise lounges on their deck at night and seeing the incredible stars every night. The sky in Cayman Brac is amazing! We would definitely come back when we have a chance. |
